Once I started to plan our trip to Vienna, I booked the flight tickets and design the schedule. After everything was set, I started to look for partners there. I found a beautiful boutique hotel and I wrote them. And this is how Das Tigra hotel in Vienna invited me to write a professional review about them.
Located in the city center, just a 10-minute walk from St. Stephan Cathedral and a 7-minute walk from Hofburg palace, das Tigra is a perfect base to explore Vienna on foot or using public transport. The Tiefer Graben street where the hotel is built is a quiet street with little traffic.
Review of Das Tigra Boutique hotel 4*
Not only its welcoming rooms designed for all types of guests (business, single travelers or families) and the proximity to the city center convinced us it is a good choice. What attracted us was the history of the hotel.
The building called today “Das Tigra” hosted Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart when he was only 6 years old and lived in Vienna for several months and later, when Mozart was 17 years old. During his stay here, Mozart performed his legendary concert in front of Empress Maria Theresia. The hotel has small details reminding of Mozart’s stay here.
As for amenities the hotel provides:
- Comfortable beds
- Air conditioning
- Flat-screen TV
- Free WLAN access (150 Mbit, 8 Mbit per device)
- Telephone, safe, mini bar
- Hair dryer, make-up mirror
- High-quality care products
- Coffee and tea maker
- Large desk
We had a beautiful Superior room on the 8th floor, so in the morning we opened our window to enjoy the sound of the city from above. Since we traveled with our toddler, the room was already prepared with a crib.
Good to know
The only downsize of the hotel is the parking. If you come by car, the hotel offers parking in a garage located 350 m away (hotel’s guests have a discount from the parking fee). We paid 28 euro/day. But considering the parking fees around, we accepted to leave the car there.
The hotel offers laundry, ironing, and cleaning service.
The buffet breakfast had so many options that it was hard to decide what to eat. And it was delicious.
We had a pleasant experience in hotel das Tigra so I can definitely recommend it to everyone that is searching for accommodation in Vienna. And if you want to explore the city on foot, I think this is a great place to stay in Vienna.
